Throughout history, many Orientalists have conducted research on the Qur'an and Islam. Especially after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Orientalists intensified their research against Islam, the Holy Prophet and the school of Ahl al-Bayt. insulted and ridiculed, and criticized the life of the Prophet.
During this time, the issue of polygamy of the Prophet ﷺ has been a topic of interest for Orientalists. It has been considered as a reason to weaken Islam.
While a comprehensive look at the verses, traditions, and historical and hadith sources reveals the conflict between these claims and the personality characteristics of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the historical facts. All the marriages of the Holy Prophet had a special expediency and wisdom.
In this article, an attempt has been made to explain the reasons and wisdom of the marriages of the Prophet ﷺ and the objectives of each of them, as well as the views of some Western thinkers. And the false ideas of the Orientalists have been rejected and the Prophet The holy personality of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ has been defended to the utmost extent.
