Nahj-ul-Balagha requires no introduction, as it is a collection in which Sayyid Razi (RA) compiled the speeches, letters, and sayings of Amir al-Muminin Imam Ali (AS), delivered and written on various occasions. These sermons, letters, and sayings are akin to a treasure trove of wisdom. In addition to Imam Ali's (AS) famous statement, "Ask me before you lose me," the eloquence and depth of his speech are unparalleled. Among the various topics, events, and prophecies covered, his praise and description of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) stand out as incomparable and unmatched.
Imam Ali (AS) not only introduced the Prophet (PBUH) by mentioning his noble lineage and ancestors, but he also detailed the Prophet’s (PBUH) personal qualities and habits, presenting his life as the best example to follow. Imam Ali (AS) emphasized the importance of following in the footsteps of the Prophet (PBUH) and adhering to his teachings. He vividly described the dire state of affairs in Arabia before the Prophet’s (PBUH) arrival and how the Prophet’s (PBUH) advent transformed these values, highlighting it as a divine blessing.
Amir al-Muminin (AS) was unwavering in his support of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), standing by his side through every trial and triumph, and playing an indispensable role in the spread of Islam. His devotion and proximity to the Prophet (PBUH) were unparalleled. Even during the Prophet’s (PBUH) final moments on this earth, Imam Ali (AS) remained the closest to him. This research article delves into the life and character of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as depicted by Imam Ali (AS), drawing insights from his profound words to shed light on the extraordinary virtues and qualities that defined the Prophet's (PBUH) life and legacy.
