No doubt, that Allah’s book, the Holy Quran, was revealed to purify hearts, to promote love and affection, kindness and justice, coordination between family and society, and to build a strong coordinated society and to care for orphans especially to preserve their rights and secure their properties.
This paper discusses the care of the Quran for the orphans in all respect and the Quranic injunctions for them, so that they can become strong parts of the society. Most of the coming verses discuss about them. The Quran gave clear guidelines for justice-based treatment to the orphans. 22 Quranic verses directly mentioned the word ‘orphan’. The verses discussed them as ‘people’ 8 times and one-time dual and 14 times in plural terms. These verses are of three types; the 1st type presents the mentioning of kindness/ charity, and testament/will for them in our Shari’ah and in the previous Shari’ahs, and the 2nd type mentions their social rights. So this paper discusses all dimensions of orphans’ life in the light of Quranic method with detail. So I liked to divide this research paper into preface, 3 chapters and ending; whereas preface contains the definition of orphan, while 1st chapter states the kindness/charity to the orphan and testament for them in the light of our Shariah, and 2nd chapter throws light on their social rights, while the 3rd one takes care of their financial rights. The ending offers important recommendations and suggestions.
