The Qur'an is the last book of Allah, which is the book of guidance and it offers solutions to all kinds of problems facing human being and human society.
Leadership and guidance is also an important requirement of the society. In this regard, there are clear instructions in the Quran as well. The purpose of this article is to find out the conditions for leadership and guidance as per the Quranic way of life.
In this context, when this holy book is studied, one finds such Quranic verses every now and then, which define clear conditions regarding Imamat, leadership and guidance. If summarized, they can be categorized into five types; Faith is the first characteristic, which is essential for every important responsibility; Knowledge is the second characteristic, without which, according to the Qur'an, the man is like a blind; Bravery and gallantry is the third characteristic, which is necessary for leadership and guidance. The fourth attribute is good planning, which means the ability to carry out any responsibility, and the fifth attribute, which, in fact, is the combination of many qualities is Taqwa (piety, God fearing). To meet all these conditions is imperative for divine leadership and guidance, and it is also an important requirement of God fearing. They include humility, modesty, bigotry, open-mindedness, justice loving, principle loving, patience and wisdom. It means, the leadership for guidance, the Quran refers, is such a leadership which leads towards guidance, and it is equipped with all the qualities, which a righteous and God-fearing man should have.
