Quran is highly self-reliant in its meaning, so demands an understanding from its structure and inner coherence rather than its mere contextual studies. Islamic world and Orientalists burnt midnight oil to understand verses of Quran and emerged with some rare insights also, but an ultimate multidimensional, multilayered and multi-colored fabric that Quran weaves out from these individual looms remained concealed from their eyes. An onslaught of Greek philosophy rendered Quran into artificial constructs of logical deliriums that camouflaged the real élan of Holy Scripture. If Quran’s legal aspects of that particular time and space are understood along with its eternal ethical principles and values, much comfortably we can deal with the challenges of modernity that emerged due to transformation of society from agricultural to industrial one. Based on library research, this paper intends to remove dust of time from the eyebrows of Quranic Weltanschauung constructed in medieval scholarship. It would be humble effort to remove prejudices about Quranic life style and family system in modern times that occurred due to seeing Quran with spectacles of agricultural society of medieval times. We shall revisit intents and goals of Quran for the safeguards of family unit in face of modernity so that family life could absorb the jerks of change.
