In the Quran, where other basic matters are of importance, the concept of human being has been given eminence and superiority over all other issues. As being the main topic of the Quran, the holy book has talked about the various aspects concerning man, giving them special significance. Islam presents a clear and worth to be followed concept regarding human values and family life. Especially, the perception of respecting humanity propounded by Islam is unrivalled and other nations are bereft of it. Islam firstly laid the foundations of a system based on equality of human race and dignity. It is after this that the religion of Islam gave innumerable rights to humans in religious, moral, economic, social and political fields. Islamic concept of human rights and freedom is universal and based on fairness, having no consideration of historical and geographical boundaries of time and space. Islam’s human rights charter is granted by the Allah Almighty, Who is the God of the whole universe, and this message was delivered by Allah through the last prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh) to common people. The rights given to man by the religion of Islam have been granted as a reward by Allah the Most High. An effort has been made in this research paper to describe the Quranic concept of humanity in the context of family besides alluding to the significance of relations in the formation and development of society as well as pointing to individual responsibilities regarding human rights imposed at societal level.
