The Quranic Concept of Prophethood in the Light of Ayatollah Khamenei's Thoughts

Abstract

After the creation of humankind, Almighty God began the institution of prophethood to guide and lead humanity. Prophets were sent to explain the purpose of life, save people from misguidance, and convey God’s message. God chooses His prophets from among human beings so that they can serve as practical role models for others.

When a prophet conveys God's message in a society dominated by idol worship, egoism, and ignorance, it becomes a great trial for him. In such environments, prophets call people toward the worship of one God, give them glad tidings of Paradise, and warn them of Hell so they may abandon ignorance and follow the right path. They free people from the life of slavery and help form a society where everyone can live independently and freely.

This guidance helps people understand the purpose of life and reach the perfection of humanity, ultimately leading to success in this world and the Hereafter. It is our duty to understand the purpose of the Prophet’s mission and strive to act upon the goals delivered by the prophets and work towards fulfilling them.
