### Abstract

The family system is the fundamental unit of human society, founded on the mutual relationship, companionship, responsibilities, and fulfillment of rights and duties between men and women. Like other spheres of human life, Islam has laid down comprehensive principles and regulations for the stability and strength of family life. The Holy Qur’an provides clear guidance regarding the mutual rights and duties of spouses, good conduct, mutual cooperation, justice, kindness, and the resolution of conflicts. However, the contemporary Pakistani family system faces numerous social, economic, cultural, and moral challenges, which are contributing to marital conflicts, discord, and family disintegration.

The present study provides an analytical examination of the major conflicts and problems confronting the Pakistani family system. It explores their causes and effects and presents possible solutions in the light of the teachings of the Holy Qur’an. The study particularly discusses the rights and duties of spouses, mutual distrust, domestic discord, economic problems, family interference, and other related factors. The objective of this research is to present the Qur’anic teachings concerning family life as practical guidance within the contemporary Pakistani social context, so that the promotion of mutual respect, justice, tolerance, and responsibility may contribute to reducing family conflicts and establishing a stable and harmonious family system.
